為何美國年輕人對基督教越來越反感﹖

這是一個BLOG看見的文章﹐Young People Rejecting Christianity, Have Perception of Religion as Homophobic ﹐內容非常直接而且坦率﹐指一些美國右派﹑極端保守的基督教徒﹐把美國一切問題﹐例如颶風卡特理娜﹑9/11﹑汽油價格上漲﹑美國在伊拉克戰事失利﹐一古腦兒怪罪在同性戀者和支持墮胎者上。文章也說最新一個民意調查﹐顯示右派基督教這種做法已經引起了美國年輕人的不滿。
進行調查的是 Barna Group﹐是美國福音派最有公信力的調查組織﹐主持研究的Kinnaman指調查發現﹐十年前﹐原本絕大部份年輕人對基督教都有一定好感﹐十年間急劇下降到只有百分之十六﹐跌幅可以算非常驚人。
According to the summary report, Barna pollster David Kinnaman found that the opinions of non-Christians, in particular, had slid like a rock in that time frame. Ten years ago, "the vast majority" of non-Christians had generally favorable views of Christianity. Now, that number stands at just 16%. When asked specifically about Evangelicals, the number are even worse: only 3% of non-Christian Millennials have positive associations with Evangelicals.
當被特別問對福音派教會的觀感﹐感到好感的更加低﹐只有3%﹗
同樣原來基督教教牧也感到外界對他們越來越反感﹕When Kinnaman asked senior pastors if they were seeing this too, half of them told him that, yes, they are finding their work to be an uphill battle -- "because people are increasingly hostile and negative toward Christianity."
調查也問﹐他們對基督教一般有那種觀察﹐12種最普遍的觀察﹐9種是負面的﹐包括﹕論斷性 (judgemental 87%)﹐虛偽 (hypocritical (85%), 守舊 old-fashioned (78%), 過份介入政治too involved in politics (75%)。
被訪者不是對基督徒毫無接觸﹐他們平均認識五個左右的信徒。
同時﹐91%非信徒﹐和80%信徒﹐都一致認為基督教是反同性戀 (anti-homosexual)﹐他們認為基督徒對同性戀者表現出過份的鄙視和毫無愛心。

文章作者指出﹐如果新一代因為對他們長輩對同性戀的態度是那麼反感﹐他認為美國爭取同性戀權利運動將會得到他們要求的平等權利﹐而且會來得比想像中快。

這所謂教會﹐在伊拉克陣亡士兵葬禮上聲稱該士兵是因美國人容忍同性戀而遭到上帝懲罰而被法庭判罰款1090萬美元。他們在士兵葬禮上居然打出些有"感謝上帝讓士兵死掉"以及"你要下地獄"等字樣的牌子。

根據芝加哥論壇報報導﹐這教派不斷在美國各地示威﹐專門在美國陣亡士兵喪禮用同樣手法示威﹕The church behind the protests﹐美國最少22個州定下法律禁止人在別人喪禮附近示威。
